Hypertextile 2027 – Open Call Internacional para Projetos Performativos

Applications are open for the International Open Call of Hypertextile 2027, the first edition of the Alentejo Contemporary Art Biennial, part of the official programme of Évora_27 – European Capital of Culture. The call is open to artists and collectives from any discipline developing performative projects that are already completed and have been presented publicly at least once. The selection will favour proposals demonstrating conceptual maturity, artistic consistency and technical feasibility, as well as the ability to adapt to the specific context of Arraiolos and the curatorial framework of the biennial. Selected projects will be presented as part of the official Hypertextile 2027 programme between May and July 2027, with the possibility of up to two presentations during the event. The organisation will provide accommodation, national or international travel, workspace and access to available equipment, in addition to an artist fee and production grant. Selected projects will also be featured in the biennial’s website, catalogue, documentary and communication platforms.

Call for Proposals | Temporary Department 2027–2029

Sandberg Instituut is accepting applications for a new Temporary Department running from September 2027 to July 2029. The call is open to artists, designers, researchers, makers and educators interested in leading a two-year master's programme. This edition focuses on “The Archive” as a contemporary artistic, social, political and pedagogical framework. Proposals are encouraged to explore archives as sites of resistance, repair and restitution, embodied and community-based archives, digital and algorithmic processes, counter-archives, speculative memory practices and creative approaches to activating existing archives. The selected Head of Department will receive institutional support, dedicated coordination, a budget for tutors and guest contributors, and remuneration for the role. Applications must include a department proposal, a description of networks and collaborations, and a curriculum vitae.

Pioneer Works Residencies 2027 NY – Visual Arts and Music

Pioneer Works is accepting applications for its 2027 Visual Arts and Music Residencies. Selected through an international open call, artists and musicians join an interdisciplinary community dedicated to inquiry, experimentation and exchange. The Visual Arts Residency offers free public-facing studio spaces, professional studio visits, institutional resources and opportunities for public engagement, alongside a $5,000 financial award. The Music Residency provides one month of dedicated access to a professional recording studio, supporting the development of new work in an environment free from commercial pressures, as well as a $3,000 financial award. Residents also become part of Pioneer Works’ growing international alumni network.

Programa de Apoio a Projetos de Cruzamento entre Cultura e Tecnologia

Applications are open for the Support Programme for Projects at the Intersection of Culture and Technology, aimed at private companies based in Portugal. The programme supports initiatives that combine technological innovation with cultural creation, including heritage preservation, interactive experiences, accessibility, cultural mediation and the development of digital solutions for the cultural sector.The grant may cover up to 80% of the total project budget, with a maximum contribution of €50,000 per selected project.Eligible expenses include personnel costs, specialised services, technological development, software and digital platforms, audiovisual and multimedia production, communication, accessibility measures, travel, accommodation and the acquisition of technical equipment essential to the project.The programme is open to private companies that are not receiving other funding from the Portuguese Ministry of Culture for the same project. Individuals, publicly funded private foundations, associations exclusively composed of public entities and state-owned enterprises are not eligible to apply.
